My new novel CRIMSON, on the shelves.

Hello,

Although I'm sure copies of CRIMSON have been out in the United states for a month already, I'm just now seeing them turn up on the Canadian shelves. Still a huge thrill to walk into a bookstore and see your book on the shelf. Very cool!!!!

Crimson is a book I first had published in 2002, back before I wrote my JIGSAW MAN novel. It only saw limited release from a small press in a trade paperback format. When Leisure Books picked it up as part of a 4 book deal I have with them, I reworked the book a fair amount and edited out nearly 14,000 words. Theend result is a tighter, faster paced story that I'm quite proud of. It's a first novel and it has it's share of flaws, but there is a rawness about it that I still really like. Hope some of you givie it a chance.

All my best.

Gord

Help spreading the word - pretty please!

Hi folks,

My first mass market book release, The Jigsaw Man, has finally started hitting the bookstores all over the United states and will soon arrive in Canada as well. Here's hoping some of you give the book a try and if you enjoy it, consider helping me spread the word. Anything will help. Buy a few extra copies for friends and family. Write a review and post it on a message board, chat site, book discussion forum, or on any of the internet sites like Amazon, Chapters, Barnes & Noble, etc. Face the books out for me, so people can see the terrific cover art. Let the bookstore managers know they need to oder/reorder copies of the book if you can't find it, or if it is sold out. Anything else you can think of works for me too - lol! As a first time mass market author it is really hard to get notices and word of mouth means everything. I'd appreciate the help.

Take care,

Gord

Hi Folks.

Sorry to x-post and spam a bit, but if I don't who will?

It's getting down to the wire now. The Jigsaw Man will be released in less than 2 weeks. 3 in Canada. Looking forward to hearing what readers thing. TJM might not be the kind of book for everyone, but I think most of you will like it.

July 29th in the States, and August 8th in Canada. Hope some of you will give it a chance. Maybe let me know where and when you see it first, too, if you can. All those little things like facng the book out so the cover is showing, and asking the bookstores to reorder if they are out - all that would be greatly appreciated.

Bests,

Gord

Hi!

Just letting people know that I will be a guest at both the upcoming Canadian Book Expo (June) and the Rue Morgue Festival Of Fear (August) in Toronto this year. If anyone just happens to be in the area, pop by and say hi. You can find out more info on both conventions below...

Canadian Book Expo:

(Note: you can get a copy of THE JIGSAW MAN nearly 2 months early, as Leisure Books will be giving away advance reader copies at their booth # 928. My signing time slot is Monday, June 16th from 12:00 till 1:30 p.m. but I'll be hanging around most of the day Sunday and Monday.)

http://www.bookexpo.ca

Rue Morgue Festival Of Fear:

Canada's biggest horror convention, I think, and I'm thrilled I've been invited to be a guest. Come say hi!

http://www.rue-morgue.com/festival.php

Hope to see some of you there.

Bests,

Gord

Hi folks,

In case you guys and gals ever want to ask me anything and don't feel like doing it here on the journal, Nanci Kalanta has been nice enough to set me up with a new message board over at Horror World. You can find it anytime by searching on the mass market message board section over at www.horrorworld.org and clicking on my name, or if you want a quick peak, here is the shortcut...

http://horrorworld.org/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewforum.php?f=121

All my best.

Gord

Alive and Kicking...

Hello...hello!

Just wanted to get the ball rolling here and thank Marcy Italiano for her help making my new and vastly improved website in time for the release of my first mass market paperback novel, coming this August from Dorchester Publishing.

In case I haven't been screaming it loud enough and you've missed the news, my novel THE JIGSAW MAN will be released by Leisure Books this August and it should be available pretty much anywhere books are sold. It is up for pre-order right now at all the online sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. From what I understand, the novel will hit the bookstores near the end of July in the United States, and should be on the shelves here in Canada by about August 8th.

I'm planning a fairly widespread promotional tour, which will include signings, readings, and the odd guest appearance at several conventions right through Summer and into the Fall. I'll post more specific information with dates, times, and places as plans firm up

Anyway, that's it for now. Here's hoping I can remember to post here on a regular basis. Make sure you give me a kick in the ass if I don't.

Bests,

Gord
